First Annual "Seven Deadly Sins" Writing Contest
The 'Seven Deadly
Sins': Pride, Avarice, Envy, Wrath, Lust, Gluttony and Sloth are ripe for
stories of the dark side and horror.
The Master Engraver is in search of creative and well-written fictional
tales to be included in 'The Best of Soul Engravings' web anthology scheduled to
be on-line in March 2005.
The Master Engraver will accept submissions of fiction, no poetry
or prose, between 2,000-3,000 words in Word Document only. Submissions
must be stand alone work, not an excerpt or part of a larger work. The Master
Engraver will accept email or postal submissions. Questions or submissions may

The Master Engraver is requesting a minimal entrance fee of $5.00US. A
writer may offer no more than three submissions. The entrance fee for two
submissions will be $7.50US and $10.00US for three submissions.
All email submissions, including entry fee registered at one of the above
addresses, must be submitted no later than 12:00AM Eastern Standard Time (EST)
on February 15, 2005. Email submissions received after 12:00AM EST will not be
accepted. No exceptions. All postal mail submissions and all entry fees
must be postmarked by February 15, 2005. Entries with a later postmark will not
be accepted. No exceptions. The Master Engraver would prefer payment by
check to either above address or by Paypal to soulengravings@hotmail.com
The Master Engraver will award the following prizes for the best of the
best. All decisions by the Master Engraver and designated editors are final.
Winners will be notified via email by March 10, 2005:
1st Prize $100US and submission published in our upcoming anthology,
including bio.
2nd Prize $50US and submission published in our upcoming
anthology, including bio.
3rd Prize $25US and submission published in our
upcoming anthology, including bio.
Honorable Mentions: submissions published
on our webzine, www.soulengravings.com, including bio.
All works will
continue to be the property of the author. Soul Engravings will not seek rights
to any work. If selected for inclusion in the anthology or for
www.soulengravings.com, an author may elect to eventually place the piece in our
archives. At any time, an author may remove his/her work from the site.
